An effective two-way platform to give a voice to young creative people, connecting them with manufacturing in a wide variety of materials and harnessing Cocoon’s production experience. Our new talent development brand, in conjunction with industry placement for young designers, this year will develop into a fully functioning studio with a focus on bringing the next generation of ideas + concepts to life.
As a dedicated open source forum to test the viability of projects, ideas and enterprises in a commercial context, Think Cocoon benefits both the Design School (via sales, promotion and funds directed back into future project development) and enhancing the profile of the designers via recognition of the commercial credentials of the projects they’ve driven, products that they own the license to and royalties for products sold. We feel there’s no better way to get noticed and refine the skills you’ve developed during previous education and help promote yourself for future prospective employment.
The Design School and ‘Think Cocoon’ brand is open to submissions from local and international talent via product/concept assessment. Selected designers will have the opportunity to see their ideas come to fruition through the full cycle of a commercial production process and gain an understanding of pricing, marketing, material production, logistics and project management. The next wave is coming.
